Diagnostic X-ray and Fluoroscopic Imaging Services

Diagnostic radiology involves exposing specific parts of the body to a small amount of radiation to obtain an image. This type of imaging can give a quick overview of the body part to identify bone and joint injury and disease, fractures, infections, dislocations, arthritis, and cancer.

Fluoroscopic imaging is "real time " imaging that enables our radiologists to see the inner workings of your body in motion. This type of imaging is an excellent way to evaluate internal functions otherwise invisible from the outside like swallowing and bowel function.  The ability to watch the contrast move through its internal path allows for an accurate and fast diagnosis.

Radiation safety is a high priority of the Pavilion Imaging staff at St. Mary’s Hospital. Our radiologic technologists are certified and highly trained to understand and follow health and safety plan guidelines. The radiation dose that diagnostic x-ray patients are exposed to is a fairly low-level dose. It is widely considered that the benefits of this low-dose radiation far outweigh any risks. We strive to provide the latest in diagnostic imaging services to everyone on the western slope of Colorado. Pavilion Imaging has two GE radiography & fluoroscopy (R & F) systems and a Kodak DR 9000 Digital Radiography system. We are a filmless facility and digitally deliver and store your images using the Kodak DirectView CR (computed radiography) and Philips iSite PACS. What this means to your doctor is a fast and precise picture. What it means to you is an accurate diagnosis and a fast-track to recovery.
